CISSP Study & Support Groups
The Austin ISSA Chapter traditionally endorses informal CISSP Study & Support Groups. These study groups are formed ad-hoc by interested individuals in the Austin area who provide mutual support to each other during preparation for the CISSP or SSCP Exam. Chapter members may make themselves available to mentor study sessions. Contact the Education Director for more information.
Austin Community College (ACC) offers a formal CISSP CBK overview class through Continuing Education, ITSY 1074 - CISSP. The course consists of twelve 4-hour evening meetings and covers all 10 domains of the CBK (Common Body of Knowledge). There is always a qualified instructor to lead the class, generally an Austin ISSA member. ACC typically schedules the course during the Fall and Spring terms. Additional ACC courses available through Continuing Education include Forensics and Document Security, and the for-credit side of ACC offers a good compliment of courses in the Security Administration Specialization program.
